Aloha & Welcome
Sarah J. Thieme
Sarah began her journey into holistic health shortly after being honorably discharged from the Navy. She worked briefly as a Personal Trainer at Bally Total Fitness but after being laid-off of a job in the early stages of the 2008 Economic Crisis, Sarah began to wonder what she would do next.
Then a moment of synchronicity landed her on the grounds of the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.), where she found herself enrolling in the massage therapy program at the Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy in Virginia Beach, VA. This school is mostly known for its history with Edgar Cayce, known as the “Father of Holistic Medicine” and the "The Sleeping Prophet." It was here that she also became educated on Cayce Remedies, other forms of holistic healing, holistic modalities, and started her own journey down the spiritual path.
Her appetite for knowledge has yet to be satisfied since graduating Cayce/Reilly and she has now received her BA in Contemporary & Alternative Health through Ashford University. After following "the call" to move to Hawaii, Sarah also became certified to practice Reiki, an ancient form of energy healing. Since then, she has gone through all levels of Reiki certifications and has been attuned as a Reiki Master. She is now certified to practice Chikara-Reiki-Do, a combination of Tibetan Reiki and the traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho. While living in Hawaii, Sarah also had the privilege of working with amazing tri-athletes and events, such as The Lavaman, Ironman, and Ultraman triathalons held in Kailua-Kona, Keauhou, and Waikoloa, HI. The Ultraman is a special event, where Ironman finishers would run an Ironman, three days in a row. This athletic spectacle would take place literally around the entire Big Island. Sarah and her family moved back to Richmond, VA in 2013.

Testimonials
Massage Therapy
“Sarah is a brilliant, gifted healer! She has worked with me in rehabbing my shoulder after major surgery. Her intuition and compassion has helped me make significant improvements in my mobility. A session with Sarah is truly a gift, and I look forward to more.” ~Vicki Y., HI
"Sarah Thieme is an amazing massage therapist and healer. I've had the privilege of seeing her work with others. She really cares about people and takes her time with each and every individual. She is thorough and well versed in integrative healing techniques. My own time on Sarah's table was unlike any other I've had before or since. I didn't need to tell her where my body needed attention, her intuition was so accurate and her hands knew where to massage. She knew exactly where my body needed work. The most profound part of my massage was when my heart chakra opened up. A portal connected with my heart and cleansed my sorrows and I was laughing and crying with ecstasy! I felt the presence of a loving force beside Sarah the whole time. I highly recommend Sarah Thieme. Her healing approach will change you for the better!" ~Almitra K., Founder & Dance Instructor at Big Island Pole Dance Studio, HI
Holistic Health & Life Coaching
"I made a plea on Facebook, half joking, half serious, about needing to get in shape for my sister's wedding. I had friends who encouraged me but then Sarah offered her assistance. I was curious so I messaged her and I really liked what she had to offer me. I went in thinking that I would get some tips on weight loss and perhaps even some guilt about my lifestyle. Instead, what I found was myself. Sarah looked deeper than the surface. She knew that change needed to start with your mind and soul. I can honestly say that with Sarah I have found a new love for myself and for my body. She encouraged me when I wasn't able to encourage myself. I am most definitely a healthier version of me now. I have found a love for water and I am listening to my body and what it needs. I have slowly introduced exercise into my life. Every step of the way she cheered me on. She is a miracle worker and there are not enough words to say how thankful I am to have had her help. Thank you Sarah. You have truly changed my life." ~Katie P., CA
Mind-Body Therapies
"In one phone call session with Sarah, I was able to release trapped emotions that had been in my body for nearly a decade. Immediately I felt a sense of relief and joy that I had been longing for. Anyone who is looking to make a shift towards a healthier, happier life should seek Sarah's wisdom. She is a master healer and a true gift to our world." ~Ajarn Buck G., Master Instructor and Life Coach at Muay Thai University, Norfolk, VA
Oracle Readings
"Thank you Sarah for the awesome reading [you] gave me! I've always wanted to have [an Oracle Reading] done, but was not only skeptical but a bit nervous to do one. I was shocked by some things I read, mostly because it was dead on! Thanks again for doing it for me!!!" ~Melissa W., CA
Why an NCBTMB practitioner?
Why credentials are important:
Most states have very different requirements for a massage therapist to practice on the public, some states having no mandates for licensure or certification at all. For these reasons, and your own peace of mind, finding a certified or licensed massage therapist can make the difference between an incredibly healing, effective, and memorable experience or a complete disaster.
What makes the NCBTMB certification different?
The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork sets incredibly high standards for therapists to earn their certification, and keep it.
NCBTMB’s programs are designed to support massage therapists from their entry into massage school and throughout their entire career as a massage therapist.
- The NCBTMB's school program ensures the schools therapists attend meets high standards of excellence
- The NCBTMB's program to review continuing education providers ensures qualified instructors will offer the information needed to stay current in the industry and maintain certification.
- The NCBTMB exam programs ensure a therapist can demonstrate the level of knowledge necessary to earn the highest credential in the profession. The NCBTMB exams are used for licensing purposes in 40 states.
NCBTMB is also actively working to gain insurance reimbursement for certified therapists. For instance, West Virginia’s Public Employee Insurance Program will only reimburse massage therapists if they are certified.
